Explore statements and metrics over time
Explorer opens any statement, disclosure, schedule, set of ratios or scenario as a series. Switch views, compute a metric, and export.
Explorer is where a number becomes a series. Pick a statement, a disclosure, a schedule, a set of ratios or a forecast scenario, and look at it across months. Live statements in Ledger → Statements are one period. Explorer is the same building blocks laid out over time.
The address of the page includes the block you opened, the view and the scenario. Copy it to come back to the same view, or send it to someone with access to your graph. It opens on that block once they have the same graph selected.
Pick a block
The Information Blocks rail on the left groups the blocks that hold figures: statements, disclosures, schedules, metrics and scenarios. Search narrows it by name.
Statements show each closed month. Metrics show the months that have been computed. A forecast scenario adds the months ahead.
Switch how you look at it
- Rendered — the table, the way it appears on a statement.
- Chart — the same series as a chart.
- Facts — the numbers underneath, one row a fact.
- Elements — the accounts and reporting concepts it is built from.
- Validation — each check and its result: passed, failed, errored or skipped.
- Rules — the checks its numbers are held to, and how serious a failure of each would be.
Export the block's table as CSV or JSON. The export is the table whichever view you are on.
Metrics
A metrics block is a set of ratios or other standing figures, one column a month. Enter a period-end date and choose Compute to add that month's column, or refresh it, from the closed statements. A metric that is missing an input is listed as skipped, with the reason. Computing uses no credits.
Once a forecast exists, a scenario picker appears on statements and metrics. Pick a scenario to add its forecast months after the actual ones; Actuals shows history alone. See Plan and forecast with your AI assistant.
